Welcome to the Greenbelt: Celebrating Toronto's Urban River Valleys

The Don River, Humber River, and Etobicoke Creek are now a part of Ontario’s Greenbelt. Together, we made this happen - so now let’s come together to celebrate!

Ontario’s Greenbelt has been protecting almost 2 million acres of farmland, forests, lakes, rivers, and wetlands for 12 years. In fact, the Greenbelt contains so many precious waterways, it could be thought of as Ontario’s bluebelt.

JOIN US THIS FALL AS WE CELEBRATE THIS VICTORY AND WELCOME THE DON RIVER, HUMBER RIVER AND ETOBICOKE CREEK TO ONTARIO’S GREENBELT.

After 8 years of campaigning with victories all along the way, it’s official: we’ve grown the Greenbelt into our city’s borders and added another layer of protection to our precious ravines from their start at Lake Ontario until their headwaters beyond our Toronto border.
