Help Shape Toronto's Waste Free Future

The City of Toronto wants to hear from the public on Toronto's Long Term Waste Plan this summer. Four public meetings are being held in June, and an online survey will be available until July 24.

You can have a big impact right now.

The future of Toronto’s entire waste management system for the next 50 years is being decided right now. It's important that people like you who care about the environment speak up now.

What will this plan mean for Toronto?

With the right plan, we can cut garbage going to landfill, conserve energy and resources, compost food to restore soil health, create good green jobs and protect the health of our community from toxins and hazardous waste.

Without a good plan, we'll keep sending almost half of our waste to landfill or incinerator, creating environmental problems for other communities and future generations, and costing billions of dollars.
