Municipal Election Survey 2006
TEA has been working hard so that Toronto residents can make an informed environmental vote in the upcoming municipal election. We are surveying all contenders for Council and the Mayoralty, asking them questions about what we consider to be the most important local environmental issues for the incoming municipal government. With seven questions, covering areas including Smog, Community Right to Know, Public Transit and Waste Disposal, the questions encompass a wide range of environmental areas and issues.
Toronto Community Housing Green Plan
The Toronto Community Housing Corporation, the largest social housing provider in Canada, asked TEA to help them develop a Green Plan. This plan has been approved in principle by the TCHC board of directors and is being implemented as part of their 20005 - 2007 Community Management Plan.
Municipal Election 2006 Brochure
In the upcoming municipal election there are critical local environmental issues to be decided. In order to bring some of these issues to the forefront, TEA has published a brochure filled with background information, the old Council's record of action (or inaction) and a series of questions to raise with your candidate at public meetings or at the door.
TEA's Elect Environment Survey 2006
The Toronto Environmental Alliance has released its Elect Environment Report Card for the Municipal Election on November 13th. The report card is based on incumbent voting records and candidate surveys, and aims to give residents the information they need to elect green candidates.
