TEA Talks: Plastics in Ontario

[UPDATE: This event is now SOLD OUT!]

It’s hard to avoid news about our global plastics problem. From marine plastic pollution to unrecyclable black plastic takeout containers, it’s an issue on the minds of politicians and decision-makers around the world.

On April 11, join us for a talk about how we can create a shift in our waste system to tackle the problems of plastics!

TEA Talks: Plastics in Ontario

When: Wednesday, April 11th, 6:30 to 8:30 pm

Where: Friend’s House (60 Lowther)

Emily Alfred, Waste Campaigner for the Toronto Environmental Alliance (TEA), will talk about TEA’s ZeroWasteTO campaign, the status of Municipal, Provincial and Federal waste policies and how we can collectively push for change in our waste system.

One of the main topics Emily will address is Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) - a framework that holds companies responsible for the products and packaging they create - and why now is the time to strengthen EPR laws in Ontario.

Bring your questions! After the talk, there will be a Q & A and discussion.

Due to limited space, please RSVP in advance using the form below.

Friend’s House is wheelchair accessible and has single-user washrooms. Please contact Jolene at [email protected] with any other accessibility concerns or requests.
