We are excited to share our latest research and findings into understanding foodware practices across the city, motivating businesses to reduce single-use items, informing them about the benefits of reusable options, and providing practical resources to guide the transition.
In the summer of 2023, we expanded our partnership with the U of T Trash Team to include Enviromentum, the Green Neighbours Network and its member groups: Green 13, Parkdale-High Park for Climate Action, Scarborough Environmental Association, Scarborough Zero Waste, St Lawrence Neighbourhood Association Waste Reduction Group and St. Lawrence Reduces. Through this partnership we were able to go out collect data 604 establishments across seven areas of the city (North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Harbourfront, St. Lawrence, Parkdale-High Park, and Midtown).
This work and fact finding revealed that some restaurants are already implementing solutions and most are ready for positive change!
