City Service Review - 2011

In the spring and summer of 2011, the City reviewed all City services to decide which ones to cut, which to reduce, and which to increase user fees for, including important environmental programs. On Tuesday, January 17th, a majority of City Councillors voted to stop proposed cuts to key environmental services in the 2012 City Budget. Read more about how TEA was involved in this victory for the environment!

Read about the proposed service cuts here.

The opportunity for public input was very small but 13,000 Torontonians answered a survey in June, and hundreds more spoke at round-the-clock Committee meetings in July and September about services. Read about the Public Survey and Input from Committee meetings here.

What You Can Do:

The key action now moves from City Hall out to all corners of the City, as TEA and other groups, talk to Torontonians about what services are important to them, and what we can do to save them.

Sign our Petition! - Tell Councillors that Environmental Services are not 'Gravy'!

Call your Councillor today to ask them to say no to environmental service cuts, especially quick decisions with no information about economic, social or environmental impacts.
