TEA has just launched a new letter writing campaign - as part of a larger effort organized through the Ontario Greenbelt Alliance - to tell the Premier not to give into pressure from the development industry.

Despite 10 years of developing laws to promote more cost-effective and environmentally sustainable housing development in and around the GTHA, a new report shows that urban sprawl is still a major threat to our Greenbelt.

After reviewing over 700 requests to remove lands across the Golden Horseshoe, the Province announced it will not shrink Ontario’s Greenbelt.

Last week the 10-year review of the Greenbelt came to a close. Now, we wait for the Provincial Government to review all the comments they received from the public since May 2016 and to make final decisions about how to change the Greenbelt laws. TEA thanks everyone who submitted comments.

While we’ve been busy building public support for growing the Greenbelt, the development industry has been aggressively lobbying the province to take farms and forests out of the Greenbelt. We cannot let this happen and need your help to stop it.
