TEA’s Zero Waste High-Rise project is well underway with 6 buildings from across Toronto rolling up their sleeves to tackle waste and climate change.

We are thrilled to announce a new three-year project that will help Toronto’s high-rise buildings reach their zero waste goals.

Located in the Malvern neighbourhood of Scarborough, this highrise is showing how zero waste is possible: with over 1000 residents, this building is generating only one dumpster of garbage per month!

TEA is thrilled to have been part of the Mayor's Towering Challenge and to have been a member of the judging panel. In the end, 11 buildings won awards for their efforts in reducing waste in their buildings!

On Earth Day, TEA focused on zero waste for Toronto's vertical communities with a zero waste event and community clean up at CityPlace, a high-rise community of 13,000+ residents.

TEA partnered with the City of Toronto's Solid Waste staff to host three tours of multi-residential buildings that are leading the way in waste diversion.

Inspired by the amazing zero waste success story of 430 Mayfair on the Green, Mayor Tory and Toronto's Solid Waste department just launched the Towering Challenge, a friendly challenge to all other multi-residential buildings in Toronto to get creative to reduce waste.

Located in Scarborough, a 25 year old condominium is showing how zero waste is possible: with over 1000 residents, this building is generating only one dumpster of garbage per month.
