Dear Santa - from Franz

Dear Santa,
My name is Franz. I have been a very good boy this year. I like to help others and make sure that we have a clean, green, environment for Toronto.
Some of the good things that I have been able to do this year include stopping the incineration of sewage in the east end of Toronto, and fighting to save our local food purchasing policy – even the Mayor voted for our plan! I also helped to research and report on the environmental risks of contracting out waste collection.
Oh Santa, I’ve tried my very best to do the right things for Toronto’s environment, but I need your help!
I was wondering if you could help me:
- Clean our yucky air by making it easier for people to use the TTC. We could do this by keeping fares down and getting more, not fewer, streetcars and buses on the road.
- Revive Transit City. The people in our city need clean and affordable transit to every corner of Toronto. And that will also help to keep our air clean.
- Clean the air, curb global warming, and save people money by getting City Hall folks to ask Toronto Hydro to do more energy conservation instead of trying to sell it.
- Stop some at City Hall from cutting our recycling and waste diversion targets. Also, it’d be nice if you could help me roll out green bins to high rise buildings.
And, if it’s not too much, speak to the Mayor about how naughty he has been by trying to cut environmental services.
I think that’s it.
I promise to be a good little boy this year. I also promise to make sure that we have A Green Toronto for All.
Please help,

Franz Hartmann
