TEA's Executive Director, Emmay Mah, and Board Chair, Kady Cowan, have a special message for TEA's supporters and allies.
Dear Friends,
January 29th was my seventh year anniversary at TEA. It has been an incredible journey and privilege to work at an organization that drives environmental progress that centres equity and justice. Over the last seven years, I have personally gained so much from working with TEA’s incredible staff, Board, partners and community members, and I’m so proud that working together, we have achieved real benefits for local communities and our city as a whole.
So it’s with both gratitude and a heavy heart that I’m sharing the news that I have decided to leave TEA and move on to my next professional challenge. I sincerely feel that the best time for me to leave TEA is while the organization is doing so well. While I don’t know what my next chapter will be, I know for certain that I will continue to remain a proud member of TEA’s community and a monthly donor.
I will be staying with TEA until May this year to support the Board and staff with the transition.
I am looking forward to welcoming TEA’s new Executive Director when my replacement is found, and I know that they will benefit from your tremendous support just as I have.
With gratitude,

A message from TEA’s Board Chair:
As Chair of the Board, we are sad to see Emmay leave TEA, and simultaneously we are happy for her as she starts a new phase in her accomplished career. Emmay has brought stability, strategy, clarity and leadership to TEA and we are deeply grateful for all her wisdom and service. Our Board is fully engaged to ensure the transition to the next TEA leader unfolds smoothly and positively. We are approaching this important process with dedication and a clear focus on recruiting an outstanding Executive Director to lead TEA into its next chapter.
Together, we have a powerful opportunity to shape the future of TEA by attracting exceptional candidates. I encourage you to join us in spreading the word far and wide so that we may find visionary leaders who share our passion and commitment to environmental justice, inspire change and will propel TEA forward with joy and purpose.
