TEA has been fighting against incineration, and for real zero-waste solutions for more than 35 years. And we're not stopping now.

We have been supporting allies and community members in Peel to fight against the expansion of Emerald EFW, an aging private incinerator in Brampton. This incinerator takes residential, industrial, and commercial waste from across Ontario. In June, Emily Alfred, TEA’s waste campaigner, spoke to Brampton City Council to urge them to push back against the Province rushed approval of the biggest incinerator in Canada, in one of the fastest-growing communities. A region that is already burdened with higher rates of industrial and transportation pollution.
