Tell PM Carney and your Toronto MP to cancel Doug Ford’s plan to bring loud, polluting jets to downtown Toronto.

If you aren’t JP Morgan, expanding Billy Bishop Airport will make your life worse. 

• Air pollution will skyrocket, adding to growing pollution from wildfire smoke
• Downtown traffic will be even worse. 
• The noise from booming jets taking off every 2.5 minutes will kill any attempts to enjoy a concert, walk through a local park, or a trip to Toronto Island. 
• Water quality will suffer, with dirtier water stagnating in the harbour hurting restored wetlands and other marine life
• Important parks and even parts of the lake could be paved over entirely
• The flight path for jets could block thousands of new housing units planned for the area.

New reporting shows that JP Morgan - a multi-billion dollar American investment bank - stands to rake in massive profits from an expansion. This decision is good for a wealthy few, not for Torontonians.

The federal government still holds an equal say in the tripartite agreement governing changes to the island airport. They also have the power to commit to making sure this gets a full federal Impact Assessment. In fact, the Environment Minister with that power, Julie Dabrusin, represents Toronto-Danforth, right on the waterfront. They must step in now.
