Sign the Petition: Green buildings are a necessity, not a luxury!
As energy prices climb higher and the weather gets more extreme, we need strong green building standards to protect homeowners and tenants from heat, floods, and other risks.
Green standards protect people from extreme heat and flooding while cutting the carbon emissions that make extreme weather worse. They also cut monthly energy bills by ensuring buildings burn less gas, and make us less dependent on overseas oil and gas with volatile prices.
We need governments to create strong green building standards. Moving backwards would destroy good, green local jobs that cannot be exported.
We, the undersigned, call on each level of government to work together to make our buildings energy efficient, climate-safe, green and clean. This means responsible green buildings standards and resources to drive a strong retrofit economy.
Addressed to:

Doug Ford, Premier of the Province of Ontario
