Join ClimateFast and TEA for a TransformTO advocacy training on Wednesday, January 3rd.

On November 30th, the City of Toronto’s draft budget was released. We were watching to see how much money would be allocated to TransformTO, the City’s new climate change action plan.

Right now, the budget doesn’t include any funding to implement the TransformTO climate plan.

If that’s not OK with you – we need you to speak up.

Join us for a deputation training on Wednesday, January 3rd at Friend’s House.

In January, we’ll have an opportunity to get directly in front of our decision makers and make our voices heard. And we’re holding a training session to get people ready.

The Budget Committee will hear public deputations - short speeches of 3-5 minutes - about the City’s Budget on January 8, 9 and 10th. These are opportunities for advocates and members of the public to speak publicly with elected officials.

At this training session you will:

• Learn more about the TransformTO climate action plan
• Learn more about the City budget process and opportunities for public input
• Hear tips on how to prepare a deputation, meet with your Councillor and submit written comments
