The Province has proposed regulations that would allow cement and steel facilities across Ontario to burn waste instead of coal with the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Unfortunately, this proposal will have some serious unintended consequences. Read more about the proposal here.
In February 2015, the Canadian Environmental Law Association submitted comments to Premier Wynne regarding the proposed regulations to allow cement, steel and lime facilities to burn waste.
