Summer is the Perfect time to Help Grow the Greenbelt!

Plants need TLC to thrive. So does the Greenbelt. Now, there are two things you can do to help make that happen

The Province is in the final few months of a 18 month review of the Greenbelt Plan and other important laws that impact our environment. While TEA’s efforts have succeeded in getting the Province to grow the Greenbelt into our river valleys, it’s now time to help grow the Greenbelt into other important lands in the Golden Horseshoe. Here is what you can do to help.

On Monday, June 27th, the Provincial Government is holding an Open House at the Toronto Reference Library (789 Yonge Street) from 5 pm to 8 pm. Please join TEA and other Friends of the Greenbelt to let provincial officials know you support growing the Greenbelt into the Golden Horseshoe and stopping urban sprawl. Please RVSP here and look for TEA staff wearing TEA buttons.

Also, send a letter to Provincial Ministers urging them to grow the Greenbelt into the the so-called “Bluebelt” (the watersheds surrounding the Greenbelt which we rely on so heavily for our clean water) and stopping urban sprawl. This new push for Greenbelt expansion into the Bluebelt was launched earlier this week by a large coalition of groups that support growing the Greenbelt.
